It's been a long time. I've spent the last 4+ months trying to get over mono. Not a lot of fun, and with a lot of extra sleep/rest required, not a lot of time for blogging. I'd like to say I'll catch up eventually, but realistically, I probably won't get back to it. We'll see.
In any case, it's time to move forward. I've missed this!
Ryan's been playing soccer this fall... his first time on a team. Last night was the first time we made it to a game as a family, and it was way more fun than I imagined. I was pretty impressed with how much it operated as a real soccer game. I don't think of Ryan as much of a sports kid in general, but he stayed pretty well focused and active the whole time he was playing. And with only 5 on 5, he got a few chances to actually interact with the ball too :)
He started out as goalie. He seems to really like it:
On the field, he seemed hesitant to get too close to the ball at first, but by the end, he was getting in the mix a bit more.

Kaeden wanted to play too, so he brought his own ball and played on the sidelines.

After the game, Kaeden was thrilled to get out on the field himself.

A game well played, and lots of fun for all :)
